Studio Art Classes for Adults

Explorations in Art:

In this congenial class, artistic concepts and techniques are explored through a variety of media based on class preference.  Acrylic painting, silk painting, watercolor, and block printing are a few media that we cover.                                                                                             

Mondays: 9:30-11:30 am Wednesdays: 11:45 am-1:45 pm

Cost:  $40 per class, paid by month, all materials and finishing included.

Online Classes for Adults

Intermediate/Advanced Drawing from Life

In this Zoom class, students learn how to draw realistically in pencil, ink, charcoal, and colored pencil through a wide variety of subjects, while exploring different styles. Students are encouraged to develop their own style of artistic expression.

Mondays: 2:00-4:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time

Cost:  $20 per class, paid by month for classes attended, class recordings included      

Intermediate/Advanced Watercolor

In this Zoom class, students explore the world through watercolor, learning to paint everything from landscapes to portraits. Though we follow classic traditions of painting, all students are encouraged to paint in the way that brings them the most joy and personal satisfaction.

Wednesdays: 2:00-4:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time

Beginning Drawing from Life

In this Zoom class, students learn how to draw what they see through a step-by-step method that ensures success. Following a tried and true curriculum, the class progresses smoothly from basic drawing skills, to how to build form through shading while working in graphite, ink, charcoal, and colored pencil.

Class starts with the new year in 2024 with class day and time to be determined.

All classes are taught by studio owner and professional artist, Susan Summit Cyr. Suzy has been teaching art to adults and children for twenty-five years and is a firm believer in the inherent artistic talent and creativity of all individuals. She is deeply passionate about sharing with students the joys of creative artmaking as well as nurturing self-esteem and building confidence through self-expression.

Important Information:

·  Classes are limited in size to maximize individualized instruction. Please email about availability as many classes are currently full. · Classes are run by the month with most months having four weeks of classes. Tuition adjusts depending on how many classes per month occur. Students may begin or end classes at any time as classes are ongoing and pro-rated. ·  Classes are conducted once a week and are two hours long. ·  Studio classes break for major holidays and for the summer months. Online classes run year-round with breaks determined by class. ·  Missed classes (24 hours notice required) are credited to the next month. ·  Tuition is due on the first class of the month. Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, cash, or checks are all accepted. ·  Returning students have priority for class spots when classes form at the end of summer.
